Stress Tip #2 – Stop Comparing Yourself to Other Women

Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else.” – Judy Garland

We are all guilty of this one at some point and it is one of the worst things we can do to ourselves …comparing yourself to someone else.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t believe what we see, but sometimes we look and see a mom that has it all together, never a hair out of place, well dressed and well mannered kids, great this and great that… But the truth is, we really don’t know what her life is really like.

Remember this – even in our own situation, how many times have others commented on how “together” we seem as a mom – when we know that we were up at midnight doing laundry so those well dressed kids had clean clothes, and yes, they were well mannered because prior to exiting the car we voiced threats of retaliation for ANY bad behavior, and after all that, of course I look all bright eyed and beautiful – my secret weapon is concealer!

So no more – no one is perfect, so no need to compare ourselves and going forward, we start celebrating who we are as an individual woman!
